Campaign update from Reverend Billy

June 9th, 2009 · 2 Comments

After a two week break from campaigning, Reverend Billy – who is running to be the Green Party nominee for mayor of New York City – sent out this email to his supporters:

Welcome to the Wednesday Night Gathering!

We meet again tomorrow night, 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the VoteRevBilly HQ, located at 250 Lafayette btw. Prince & Spring Sts.

The campaign is getting back on its feet after the 2 week-long Shopocalypse Tour in England – with the hiring of our new Artistic Director, the smooth yet compassionate Michael Premo.  We also have house parties coming up on June 19, 24 and 27th.  Janos and Shilpa showed us the way with a dandy funder last Thursday in Billyburg!

This past Sunday, we started our singing and preaching campaign in the parks, in Little Italy.   A heart circle of Radical Faeries and guests graced our HQ Friday night.  We also attended the LGBT rally against the police attacks on lesbian clubs in Bushwick.  It’s Pride Month!

It’s summertime and there’s work to be done!  Roll up your sleeves and join the rise of the neighborhoods.  Fundraise with us as we dance, person the phones, hand out flyers, walk outside and wave to the firemen across the street.  We sang for them Sunday night.  Good neighbors.

Rev

How many signatures has the Green Party’s Reverend Bill collected?

How many does he need to get on the ballot?

Petitioning doesn’t start til this summer for parties without ballot status. 7500 signatures are required, same as for Joseph Dobrian, the Libertarian candidate.
