The Green Party reports that the Swedish “Pirate Party”, which won an MEP in the recent European Union election, will join the Greens/EFA Group for the upcoming European Parliament legislature and that the Pirate Party MEP, Christian Engström, says he will support the Greens/EFA position in areas where the Pirate Party has no agenda.

Nader asks PA Attorney General to return certain campaign contributions

In Pennsylvania, in 2004, the law firm Reed Smith coordinated the challenge to Ralph Nader’s petitions to be a candidate for President. Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett is investigating the challenge, and the fact that state employees may have wrongly used government time and computers. Ralph Nader believes that the Attorney General Corbett should not accept any campaign contributions from Reed Smith or lawyers associated with the company.

Actress Daryl Hannah, Dr. James Hansen and others arrested protesting mountain top removal in WV

Yesterday, Tuesday, June 23rd, a civil disobedience took place in West Virginia to protest mountain top removal. Those arrested included: Daryl Hannah, Ken Hechler, Dr. James Hansen, Michael Brune and Judy Bonds. A halt to mountaintop removal is part of the platform of the state green party in West Virginia. And, an announcement of the civil disobedience had been made on a prominent, national green activist list.
