I suspect you’re correct.

MIAC is one of the new paper-shuffling bureaucracies — a money sink for “homeland security” funds. New regimes (both nationally and at the state level) mean new asses to kiss before the next funding point. So, MIAC cranked out something they thought their new Democrat masters would like.

Don’t mistake me for a MIAC supporter. Their work as represented by the report is third rate, poorly presented and clearly biased in favor of the party they expect to sign their future paychecks.

The burr under my saddle is that it’s bad enough that it doesn’t need to be lied about or misrepresented, and in fact lying about it and misrepresenting it makes it less likely that we’ll get something productive done about it.

This is ‘product’ of the ‘best and brightest’ org we have, DHS. It cannot be conceivable that it does lackluster work. The true objective may be on a ‘need to know basis’, but brass shining ass kissers don’t allow the train too far off the track.

Mr. Knapp can argue what the report didn’t say, but I say it purposely said nothing. It was a connect the dots elephant in the room, and as such an irresponsible “teaching” tool. Innuendo is not what I want mixed with ‘big iron’. I suspect that the right, and not third parties were the true target, like Nixon’s enemies list, and the Clinton’s. Time will tell.

Paranoia and conspiracy theory are the status quo’s best friend. Sooner or later, every argument boils down to two sides in terms of popular perception. The powers that be love it when they get to position themselves as the only sane alternative to whackjobbery, rather than having to take on their real opponents. The status quo then wins by default.

He and his kool-aid drinkers essentially gave MIAC, Nixon et al a “believably call your opponents lying whackjobs” hand to play in the media, and it took quite a bit of work to put together a better hand.

My concern is not for the news itself–but for the commentary that is attached to it.

What arrogant horseshit. Alex Jones is a great source of information. Most of his stuff comes straight from mainstream media sources around the world or straight from government documents. I’ve been following him since 2001 and he rarely gets a story wrong and on the few occassions when he does he issues a retraction if he finds out that something was wrong. I’d put Alex Jones up against anybody.
