So, I’m sure that people have covered this before, but I read the portion of the magazine detailing that Barr-Root has no obligation to turn over its contact lists to the LP and, more importantly, that it has no intention of doing so.
Why? It surely doesn’t hurt Barr to do so and if he does run again for Congress as Republican (as Christina Tobin suggests in another article), it certainly can’t hurt to have some Libertarian goodwill in a state where the LP just forced a runoff.
Also, since he definitely plans on staying active in and promoting the LP, why isn’t Root pressing for the contact lists to be released to the LP? Whatever ideological problems Root may have, he always seemed to be a huge proponent of party growth.

Oh, Barr would provide the list–for a price.

I don’t think Root wants to antagonize the people that still hold Barr in high regard too much.

Speaking of things Barr was supposed to pay for, did Angelia O’Dell ever get paid?

Not as of the last time anyone I know asked her, which I think was a few weeks ago. Of course, I’m trusting that whoever it was relayed what she said accurately, and I don’t remember who it was anymore. Maybe Jake Witmer or Matt Harris, but I’m not sure.
