Keep sending us updates – contact.ipr@gmail.com is better than my personal email, because it gives the other IPR writers a chance to post it too, which will become a lot more important after I get over being sick and get back to real (as in paying) work.

This vastly increases your chances of getting covered, although we can’t guarantee we’ll run everything we get.

The campaign has already passed many LP campaigns in publicity, activity, fundraising, and staffing, and the election is still over a year and a half away. So I hope everyone will check the web site frequently, volunteer, and contribute.

I think its way to early to say anything like that. Kay Bailey Hutchinson could really screw up, get a tough primary challenger, etc.

Kilgore ran in 2006 for governor (GOP Primary), finished second in a four-way race, then ran against Cornyn for Senate last March, garnered 17-18% and Kinky Friedman will be running as a Democrat if he does run again.

But, this is the coronation of Kay Bailey Hutchison, Texas’ other senator.

Our nominee for governor won’t be getting the media that say, Barry Cooper will/could get for Texas Attorney General.

TXCP meetings have been the largest in the country for quite some time (sometimes pulling 200-300 people)

Those are good numbers. Are these state conventions, supper club speakers, or what?

They have to get names and contact info from as many of those as possible (as in actively ask them one on one, not just leave a sign-up sheet)
and then followup with contacts asking people to do stuff if they want to really capitalize on that.

Writing us to let us know what all they are doing probably wouldn’t hurt.

I know. They’ve done it once before, and apparently think they can do it this time. I do have some doubts, but they have alot of people in TX after the Ron Paul stuff. Im sure the LPTX has benefited to. Interestings, TXCP meetings have been the largest in the country for quite some time (sometimes pulling 200-300 people)–but they’ve never been able to turn that into significant fundraising or ballot access (except 96,with the help of many buchananites).

Do they have a solid plan for that? Texas statewide is a huge undertaking.

Sorry, I meant to include that he’ll run as a Republican. He ran once already, for Senate I think ,and got 17% or so in a two-way primary.

But I do think the CP will be on in Texas in 2012.
