Ooops. The TX police state's retaliation against Barry and his family came at the time when he should have been filing his paperwork for AG. So he's not running this time around. (The TX LP was not willing to work with him on the filing deadline, likely a decision prompted by internal politics.)

Since he's a libertarian, he decided not to run as an independent either.

Also, Cooper was arrested today for "filing a false police report" in 2 jurisdictions, which carries a max sentence of 1 year in Williamson Co., and 6 months in Odessa. Of course, in the one case where his undercover sting exonerated the police department's actions (the one case where the policeman did not simply pocket money made to look like drug money), he was commended for being a citizen watchdog, and not charged with any crime. ...LOL!

So, Barry is in jail now, possibly for just one day, possibly for up to 10 days (although it doesn't look like that will be the case).

I'm a big fan of Barry Cooper. I think his decentralist, activist approach will be a shot in the arm for the LP.

I'm looking forward to working for the Texas Libertarian Party again. :D They are a great bunch of people!

I am starting to believe that the key factor in our success is positive, not negative. As in:
1) It matters more that we have a very good bunch of libertarians who are all on approximately the same page strategically.
2) It doesn't matter so much what the prevailing attitudes of the public are, except that they not be totally statist. (ie: People in the USA are all basically uninformed libertarians.)

I think Barry is going to do a great job, and win more votes than a Libertarian has ever won in a statewide race in Texas.

Pullllllllllllllllease do, the non Lib, non Lib Lite, non theocrat, non paleocon, non neocon voices have been complaining on [so called] IPR and [so called] TPW for months ago.

Are there any Greens or Socialists who have expressed an interest in writing here? I've gone out of my way to cover Nader and the Greens, and occasionally some of the Socialist sect parties. We had one Green here, Gregg, but he has not been posting lately. He hasn't been posting at Green Party Watch either, so I'm guessing he's still busy with offline stuff.

We asked Ron Hardy and Kimberly Wilder to write here, and issued open calls.

Fred Church was covering the socialist/hard left parties but seems to have stopped posting articles also.

If Don knows writers who would like to cover the Green and Left parties more here, by all means please put them in touch with Trent instead of bitching.

contact.ipr@gmail.com

They should be aware that we are looking for people to post news items, not editorials, with possible rare exceptions, and that there is no pay.

Even aside from just Greens and leftists, if anyone wants to write here they should talk to Trent ASAP. I've been doing the overwhelming majority of articles the last few months, but that is because I have been ill and unable to do paying work.

That will hopefully change soon. I already have several jobs waiting on me, and I will probably take one of them if my breathing does not get worse again after the pills end in a week or two.

If our fundraising is successful enough, I may start working here part time even before that.

After I get back to work, I will have little or no time to post articles here. I'll still do what I can, but it might not be much, and certainly nothing like I have been.

So y'all please get on that before IPR goes the way of TPW.

The real sad issue is that you did not call TPW poorly. You called it properly: Libertarian Party Watch! That is the real shame!

[[a] Joey Dauben: " That’s unbelievable. Truly unbelievable. I miss the flood of comments to-and-fro between the various Libertarian blogs. "

To Joey Dauben That’s unbelievable. Truly unbelievable. I missid the FACT that the LIBERTIAN Party Watch was mis named the Third Party Watch and that fair minded folks, as with the mis named INDENPENDENT Political Report were trying to, BUT NOT fooling foks on the broader spectrum.

Altertnate activists, groups, candidates constantly criticize the Democan and Republicrat establishment duopoly, and then rush out to out do them!

As much as the Dems and GOP should be ashamed of themselves, we make it sooooooo easy for them! Income tax rates, Federal Reserve Notes, automotive mileage, built it flaws through out the system. And then there is TPW and IPR!

Stalin, 1936 "He whom votes decides nothing!
He whom counts the votes.........".

[b] Cody Quirk is NOT A NICE GUY! His political and or religious views may mirror Trent Hill's, but is that the bench mark for integrity? He lies, and then hides in the shadows! He literally steals intellectual property and posts it/ them as his own.

He makes a big deal out of net to nothing. On big deal items he is strangely quiet. He is much of what is wrong with non Democrats and non GOP.

And the church stuff, pullllllllllllease! Just be cause you like the guy personally does not mean he does not have the ethics of a Democrat or the honesty of a Republican!

Shame on you Trent, shame, shame, shame!

[c] Joey Dauben: Pullllllllllllllllease do not call it some fakey dakey general name to hide the agenda a priori!

Stalin, 1936 “He whom votes decides nothing!
He whom counts the votes………”.

[b] Cody Quirk is NOT A NICE GUY! His political and or religious views may mirror Trent Hill’s, but is that the bench mark for integrity?

My AVAST security sets off alarms whenever I try to log onto TPW. Says there is malware. Same thing happens when I use my "Chrome" browser on a different PC.

So I just avoid it altogether. Not that there is anything to find there.

PEACE

We're building the movement for the New Libertarians ladies and gentlemen...

Tell the other LP TX folks that I will look into all of the questions that were submitted and then post those publicly.

Barry Cooper's built-in celebrity status is going to help make this campaign the most energetic, active campaign that Texas Libertarians have seen. That is my ultimate goal. We will promote the platform in various ways, and credible ways at that.

So enough talk about the "real" Libertarians.

Like Barry and Candi said on the way to the Alex Jones show, we are the "New Libertarians." The ones who don't bore us with hours of hours of philosophy-talk and extremist positions and wacky personal agendas.

The cause of liberty is too great to be left to extremists and debate-society rejects.

PS: I'm working with the Web site guy to design a new site for launching soon, so people's concerns will be addressed that way.

Cody Quirk is a decent guy. Brian Holtz, of the LP Reform Caucus also posts there periodically.

But, despite that---they havent had a post in about 10 days.
