thanks for spelling it out , when someone mentions god it usually puts my brain half asleep:)

    libertariangirl,

OK, one step at a time now so it won’t require too much of you:

    (1) Yesterday, Barak Obama was sworn in as President Of The United States.

    (2) Barak Obama gave a lifeless inaugural address.

    (3) Many have looked upon and treated Obama as a kind of savior.

    Am I moving too fast?

    (4) Evangelicals preach a doctrine called the “Rapture” which envisions the second coming of the Savior, Jesus Christ, as preceeded by an event in which God plucks believers into heaven directly from their earthly lives.

    (5) Since Obama is seen by so many as a kind of savior, I joked – that means made fun, incidently – that his presence in Washington yesterday disproves the doctrine of the “rapture” because obviously Evangelicals weren’t taken en masse into heaven prior to his speech, unless, that is, you may have something quite special to report to us to the contrary. You’ve been seeing people disappear lately, perhaps?

Now, unless you feel entirely comfortable at this kind of depth, I’d be reluctant to stress you unnecessarily with more. But if you feel you can manage it, here’s the rest:

    (6) Eastern religions teach a doctrine called “reincarnation” which envisions life in a new body for souls which fail to attain to perfection in the present.

    (7) Many see Obama as a kind of retake of Lincoln or Roosevelt. I joked – made fun – that such a belief proves the reality of reincarnation.

Got it? You can laugh now.

    WTF?????
what does that even mean John?

The Theological Significance Of The Obama Presidency

While the rather flat and uninspiring character of his inaugural speech may seem to demonstrate otherwise, two heretofore contested theological questions would appear resolved as a consequence of the swearing-in of the Abraham Delano Messiah presidency yesterday:

    (1) That the teaching of a pre-millenial “rapture” is conclusively disproved. Clearly, The Savior made his appearance in advance of any such glorious assumption of the faithful, and

    (2) That the doctrine of reincarnation is now to be regarded as worthy of acceptance, what with the testimony of so many thousands that in him lives on the spirit of Lincoln and Roosevelt. Of particular importance in this case are the first hand reports of those in the commercial media.

I watched on C-SPAN. I try to avoid propaganda when I can. The speech wasn’t very “great” IMO. Kennedy and Reagan were MUCH more inspiring.

With all the kissing and hugging before the ceremonies between the Clintons and Bushes, it just reinforces to me it is all the same. There will be little change in foreign policy and much more GOV’T at home. HighSPEED socialism if you will.

You can tweet and watch inauguration ceremony live in HD here

  7. Burrow Owl January 19, 2009

Hell no, I aint going to watch it.

I’m pretty sure that we will have many, many opportunities to both witness and endure the sad results of this socialist train wreck over the next few years (decades?).

  8. Catholic Trotskyist January 19, 2009

My comment about Wilson is that he was indeed the worst president, and Obama should not be compared to him.

  9. Catholic Trotskyist January 19, 2009

    Not Wilson, no.

Thanks for your positive comments Amy.

As many will not be surprised, I will definitely be watching the inauguration and annointing of our holy deliverer, the alpha and the omega, the blessed one of God, Barack H. Obama, along with Catholic Trotskyist sympathizer Joseph Biden, and the prayer by Protestant Trotskyist sympathizer Pastor Rick Warren, the departure of the ignominious Republicans from power, and the victory of Catholic Trotskyism which will soon come towards impending domination over the world, amen. Infact, I am giving a speech at my school’s inauguration celebration, in which I will not mention Catholic Trotskyism, but I will make clear both my Democratic and Catholic beliefs. I will also be posting my own personal prayers and poems to this website later, probably. I laugh at the pathetic Republicans, Libertarians, Constitutionists and Greens, as I imagine Obama’s real birth certificate from Kenya being torn up as he ascends to glory.

God bless the state, God bless the church, God bless Barack Obama. Amen, Allelujah.

I think comparisons to Lincoln, FDR, and Wilson are valid in various ways.

Among the things people making such comparisons aren’t likely to mention: Lincoln and Wilson were very racist, and FDR did not, as I recall, integrate the military.

Lincoln was the American president responsible for the most military deaths in war, with FDR a close second. American civilian casualties in war were most with Lincoln. FDR had few American civilian casualties in war, but was at least partly responsible for a vast number of foreign civilian casualties and foreign military casualties in war. Wilson comes in third, unless you want to include Jeff Davis in the list (he was an American, after all).

Lincoln, FDR, and Wilson all had significant difficulties with corruption and economics, too. So, if one wanted to name the tri-fecta of worst presidents, they would be them.

No. I prefer to watch more quality shows with similar hype and drama, but less endless droning. WWE comes to mind…

As for the changing of the guard, the fox just changed from right-handed to left-handed, and the chickens are still in deep trouble as the henhouse crumbles around them.

  12. Steven R Linnabary January 19, 2009

Im curious as to whether he’ll be compared to Lincoln, FDR, or Wilson the most.

    Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah.

[satire] 35% of the poll respondents said they would like to watch the inauguration at Guantanamo Bay while waterboarding a detainee.

    Yep.

Im curious as to whether he’ll be compared to Lincoln, FDR, or Wilson the most.

  17. Steven R Linnabary January 19, 2009

I voted “maybe”. I don’t plan to watch it (and be bored to tears by it), but I don’t plan to actively avoid it either.

I’m sure that as soon as the show is over, the inaugural speech will be online, providing sufficient fodder for numerous articles, letters to the editor, and arguments in general.

    PEACE
