The collapse of these companies, and the loss of value to taxpayers who bought in through the idiotic bailouts at much higher prices, is quite staggering. The healthiest stock I looked at was Goldman Sachs, which I believe benefits not only from TARP but also from the AIG bailout. Goldman Sachs has lost over 67% of their stock price since its peak.

The worst example is AIG which is down 99.66% from its peak price. Reminds me of that Ivory soap commercial “99 and 44/100ths pure.” Pure? In AIG’s case, pure sewage.
