Evidently Pres. Dubyah no longer finds the "Word" convenient, but that is not surprising. Most of the world would be in agreement. In fact, most mainline religions (over the past 70 years) have steadily backed away from the Bible. John Paul II held evolution as a more probable explanation of the "arrival" of man on the earth. Lutherans and Episcopalians no longer agree with the Word that homosexuality is an "abomination"; (that word, by the way is one of the strongest condemnatory words in the Bible). Given that broad background why should I, why should you, why should anyone be surprised at "George in reverse"? No surprise at all. As for fundamentalists, id est, those of us who accept God and His Word, at His word...we are frankly "nuts" as goes the extant opinion of the "world". So be it. My opinion?; so be it. One of us is in for a surprise; just a little more time and all the questions, mockings, derisions, and criticisms (on both sides) will be answered. The dangling question, of course, is this; what will the answer mean for mankind? e.c.
