Is it impolite to ask why he gets to address the LNC for 30 minutes? Will other future candidates have equal treatment?

I said it repeatedly, Root was running for a career boost, hoping to leverage his candidacy into a radio or cable TV show.
Like many pundits, he has no real views, he’s a showman who spews whatever opinions he thinks his audience wants to hear.

I have been on the LNC for 12 years, and I do not remember a single Presidential or Vice-Presidential nominee asking for time to speak at an LNC Meeting. I do remember LP members complaining about missing or late
post-campaign writeups from past Presidential campaigns. So now we have one of our
**Vice-Presidential* nominees willing to fly to an LNC Meeting and talk about what happened during his campaign, and you are complaining that the LNC is giving him the time to do that.

Barack Obama is also a “showman who spews whatever opinions he thinks his audience wants to hear.” And look where Obama is now.
Mr. Sipos wants to deny reality. The LP does not get to redefine the rules of politics. Those rules have been crafted from a combination of tradition, and innate human nature. The masses respond to Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, and yes, Adolph Hitler personas, a lot more readily than they respond to Barry Goldwater or George McGovern personas.
With the possible exception of his view on the War in Iraq, Root has been very consistent in his defense of free markets and social tolerance. Mr. Sipos is free to evaluate Root on whatever criteria he wants to, but how many prior LP Vice-Presidential Nominees have been on Fox News Channel a month after their Presidential election, preaching the virtues of the free market?

I’m not complaining, as long as his remarks are focused on the 2008 campaign, and as a report on it. Because I don’t know the history or the dynamics, I did not know whether such an address is customary, or out of the ordinary. You say it hasn’t happened in 12 years… so I would say it is somewhat unusual.
The agenda as posted here however said “Wayne Allyn Root to address committee for 30 minutes”. No topic given. I’m simply saying that if his remarks are on “the future” however construed, there are others who have an opinion on that too.

“And look where Obama is now.”
Yes, and look what Obama’s doing now — continuing the policies of the previous administration. It’s hard to get “change” from candidates who so enthusiastically embrace and mimic the status quo.
