I wasn’t criticizing Kubby. I was responding to Jim Davidson, who suggested that Nixon should be executed for the crime of “treason”, i.e. for betraying the State. I, on the contrary, believe that people should be rewarded, rather than punished, for betraying the State. That doesn’t mean that I forgive Nixon for any of his other numerous sins, many of which undoubtedly deserve punishment. But “treason”? No way.

As for the part about “locking them up and throwing away the key”, that was a reference to Mr. Phillies’ apparent belief that if someone disagrees with his politics, they deserve to be incarcerated. If we adopted that standard, I would no doubt be one of the first ones that was hauled off to jail.

And I don’t see libertarians looking “for any excuse to gleefully spill the blood of their enemies.” History has given us plenty of excuse already! Considering that the WoD and the resultant persecution and prosecution of Kubby are Nixon’s fault, I don’t blame him for that attitude one bit. The WoD is a War on Freedom, one of many the gummint wages daily against We the People.

It seems that some “libertarians” will look for any excuse to gleefully spill the blood of their enemies. It reminds me of when Phillies said repeatedly during one of his speeches at the Convention that the way to deal with statists (or at least the ones he disagreed with) was to “lock them up and throw away the key”. He punctuated this claim by pounding his fist like Hitler. Worse yet, this drew considerable applause.

Personally, I want no part of this vindictive, bloodthirsty version of libertarianism. Unfortunately, there are situations in which using violence or incarceration may be necessary to defend oneself, or to punish evil. That doesn’t mean, however, that we should relish these situations, or seek them out.

You serious? This is probably the first time I’ve seen a self-professed libertarian support executing people for treason. Execution for murder I’ve seen before… but execution for treason against the State? Wow.

The war on drugs is a war on the American people. The war on terror as it is implemented today is a war on the American people. The war on money laundering is a war on the American people.

As Steve notes, these wars are treason. Little wonder that the war on drugs was described in those words first by the neo-conservative Republican president Nixon, who engaged in so many other acts of frank treason. Nixon should have been tried for treason, found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction, and executed. His subordinates who either committed treason should have been tried and executed, or if they only performed acts accessory to treason, should have been tried and convicted of felonies, and been ineligible to hold federal office. I am speaking in particular of Cheney, Rumsfeld, GHW Bush, etc. Nixon’s White House was a festering swamp of perversion, corruption, and treason. The surviving members of that administration should still be tried for treason and related crimes.

The same is true of Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush the younger. Making war on the constitution and making war on the American people are undoubtedly making war on the United States. And the wars have gone on long enough.

Stop the wars. Execute the traitors.
