What about Sean Haugh? Haugh was the co-author of the infamous “kiddie porn” press release smear and he even went so far as to defend it.

Elsewhere on this site, Brian Holtz has demanded that the BTP either cease to exist, or call for the destruction of the LP. I have no intention of doing either at this time.

The ones that were there last term voted unanimously to sell out to the Republicans, finally acknowledging that there is no difference.

The ones who just came in did nothing about it the last two meetings. And have not made any plans to do anything this time.

It is almost tempting to join, just once, to go to their convention and vote to dissolve the damn thing and refund all dues, if there were enough people willing to do it. Almost.

Just ten minutes for the Executive Director search?

I suspect the Executive Director Search report is short because they can’t currently afford to hire an Executive Director. Once fundraising is up, I’m sure more time will be allotted.

Of course, if fundraising prowess (either direct or delegated) is a key metric of ED performance, arguably they can’t afford not to hire an ED because any ED worth his salt would fundraise far more than his own salary. The question then becomes whether that is a quality the LNC is focusing on and whether the LNC believes it can attract an ED of that caliber. Again, if the LNC believes it cannot attract such an ED or the donor base of the LP can’t support any such person, it makes sense for very little time to be allotted to that agenda item.
