Via vice-presidential contender Michelle Shinghal’s blog comes an early look at one potential Libertarian cabinet:
Keaton has been quite the busy bee so she’s asked me to announce our cabinet. Obviously we realize that this step is usually taken after winning not only a party nomination but the White House but we feel that you can never be too prepared. While we’d really like to get rid of many of these agencies we understand the necessity of weaning the baby from the teat. With that idea in mind we initially plan to combine a few of the departments as follows:
HHS & Veterans Affairs- Ruth Bennett
Budget – Carol McMahon
Justice & EPA– Amanda Philips
State & FDA — Dr. Mary Ruwart
Defense– Karen Kwiatkowski
Agriculture & Energy — Susan Hogarth
Secretary for Information Technology – Carolyn Marbry
A full rationalization of the cabinet’s membership and new structure can be found at the original article. As for the remaining cabinet departments…
We plan to make no more the departments of Commerce, Labor, Transportation, Education and Housing & Urban Development. Every single one of those offices can be directed more efficiently on a private or local government level. As far as the Department of Drug Control Policy goes, we’re just gonna get rid of that altogether. What people decide to put into their bodies is not the government’s business and busybodies should take a listen to the late, great Billie Holiday because it t’ain’t their business either.

They forgot Treasury and Interior. Interior is necessary (for now) because the NPS safeguards that damn piece of paper we call the Constitution.

i think steve kubby should be dept of agriculture and energy

We didn’t forget those departments Seebeck, we just haven’t worked it all out yet. ;o)
LibertarianGirl’s suggestion of Kubby for ag and energy is a good one though…

Alas, everyone does not equally love their fair Angela (8^((
The LNC Agenda for December includes a n item on disciplining Angela Keaton

LOL @ miche.
I nominate Lidia with her Agronomy Masters for Sec Ag. Kubby would be better at demolishing the DEA.

Joseph is right, there does need to be a male representative in this cabinet. And I am surprised none of you libertarians noticed the fact that they just created a new department (information and technology?)

Doh! CT is correct. The list came over and I edited a bunch but didn’t catch the IT department mistake.
Ok, to correct, that’s just a regular IT post not a cabinet position. LOL

And Phillies, I’ve been wondering A) WTF will Angela be disciplined for and B) If they’ll even get to that order of business with Root talking first. I’m sure he could talk about himself for hours.
9 Michael Seebeck // Nov 25, 2008 at 8:16 pm
They will try to punish Angela for having a spine and not being afraid to arch it. They’re intimidated by a strong woman who’s not afraid to show it.
And if I can’t do Interior, I’ll be happy to work with Carolyn on IT. My geek life can be useful there, and we’ve worked well together in the past.

Agriculture and Energy? Seperate cabinet positions.
11 Catholic Trotskyist // Nov 25, 2008 at 11:17 pm
Thanks for correcting. In this case, I guess Ross and I are more libertarian than the libertarians, kind of like some people are more Catholic than the pope. On the other hand, perhaps some libertarians would say that if they can’t abolish departments, it would be better to merge them.

If you’re baffled at merging offices you’ll really flip when you see our latest release promising an orgasm a day.
Keaton/Shinghal 2012 promises to change the way you look at the presidency. After all, the election process is a joke already so we may as well have fun on the way!

Oh jesus. Singing paeans to feminism is no way to get a date, son.
15 kiddleddee // Nov 26, 2008 at 2:10 am
I don’t think that Michael was singing paeans to feminism; I think he was being critical of male chauvinism. There’s a difference.

When it comes to getting a date, not really.

Miche,
There are much stronger reasons for disciplining other Libertarians. See my article
http://www.thedailyliberty.com/story/2008/11/24/85946/563
In summary, I note:
#1) Use of National Party resources to support Bob Barr’s nominating campaign.
#2) Gross breach of fiduciary responsibility, namely use of party resources to support a
Republican Presidential candidate.
#3) The phony “District of Columbia” delegation to the Denver convention.

Keaton ought to be disciplined for making up and spreading false criminal accusations about long time Libertarian activists/petitioners, as well as for helping to protect the job of the incompetent SLIMEBALL Political Director, Sean Haugh.
22 Michael Seebeck // Nov 26, 2008 at 3:48 pm
Earth to Druckenmiller and darolew: I’m happily married. I don’t need to get a date. That would be Aaron Starr or Itch or Yank.
And while I was being somewhat critical of male chauvinism, I was being even more critical of male chauvinism on the LNC, and the offenders know who they are.
23 coming on the back of the LP // Nov 26, 2008 at 4:02 pm
A little birdy told me Aaron Starr, Itch and Yank all hooked up already. They may have even all been there at the same time.
