Jesse Johnson polls double digits in some counties

November 11th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Jesse Johnson, the Mountain Party candidate for Governor in West Virginia, ran a vigorous campaign for governor this year, polling 4.46% statewide. The Mountain Party is West Virginia’s Green Party affilliate and Jesse Johnson was a Presidential candidate for the Green Party nomination earlier this year. In most counties, Jesse Johnson did not poll higher than 8%, but Monongalia County proved to be the exception to the rule, where Jesse Johnson polled 11.3%.

The county in question includes Morgantown, WV, one of the state’s bigger cities.

Great news! I thought maybe it was his hometown?

Looks like a place for the GP to focus on.

I’ll bet they could get support from the anti-coal families there.
