It is Veteran’s Day. We used to call it Armistice Day because at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, the First World War was brought to an end – the fighting stopped, the negotiations began shortly thereafter in Versailles, and the rest is dismal. We no longer call it Armistice Day because an end to fighting isn’t in the plans. Veterans should stand proud today for doing what you thought was right. The troops should be honored and brought home.

DING! DING!
OK, LJ and JD, to your corners!
LJ, knock off the attitude. You too, JD, and knock of the pointless namecalling while you’re at it.
When the bell rings again, come out of your corners and TRY to either have a rational discussion or STFU.
Sheesh! Talk about going to a fight and having a political debate break out!
DING! DING!
I usually get to where I’m staying by sight and feel, not by street address.
Yes, indeed, I have a long list of things for the pope to pray about, but as an unofficial advisor and a communicant with the archangel Gabriel and the souls of Leon Trotsky and Victor Serge, this is my right. I also pray for Libertarian Joseph to be able to remember his correct address in the future.
It’s 498 n. 11th st. I got it mixed up with my old address on watsessing ave.
Catholic Trotskyist, you have the nicest things for the pope to pray about.
lol. You know, Jim. I wasn’t attacking you or the article. I was just expressing my view of what the BTP’s agenda is, to be like a lobbyist firm to the LP to whip it into line or whatever.
“we won’t join you unless you…”
it’s like what a union is to a politician
my analogy anyway
sorry, but I was just not going after you or defending Barr ha. I couldn’t care less about Barr after nov. 4th.
Looks like a vacant lot on Google street view, man. Ha. Liar, coward, scum.
Jim Davidson is right, and is definitely more libertarian than “Libertarian Joseph.” Since Trent Hill, a constitutionalist Ron Paul Republican also agrees, I thought I should add my agreement from the prospective of a Catholic anti-constitutionalist Trotskyist Obamamaniac Democrat. I will definitely ask for the pope to pray that Libertarian Joseph calms down and that Jim Davidson will meet with success in all his efforts.
Right there by I-280. Cool. I should be out that way in March.
You’re the one asking for my address, man. ha
The non aggression principle says nothing about using force to defend life, liberty, or property. In fact, most libertarians agree with this idea of using defensive or retaliatory force. Only a very few libertarians are pacifists. Some were and are now dead.

Yes, Joseph, I want to say that to your face. Please provide your address.
What about the non aggression principle? LOL

So, getting in a fistfight proves that you are a libertarian? Gotcha.
Jim, want to come and say that to my face?
I’m more libertaran than you’ll ever be.
So, anyone that disagrees with you is not a libertarian? Gotcha
That’s why it’s better to conduct local petitions? I’m not an expert on petitioning.
Obviously.
I think Joseph is not a libertarian, not an anarcho-capitalist. He is a troll. He should crawl over broken glass on his hands and knees to apologise to Angela O’Dell. But, he won’t. Which is why he’s scum.
That’s why it’s better to conduct local petitions? I’m not an expert on petitioning.
I wasn’t attacking the context of this article btw. Jim just wants to make it look like I am. Strawman?
I think Joseph needs to spend a few weeks doing some volunteer petitioning at his own expense, while traveling around the country.
Maybe then have an informed opinion.
Libertarian Joseph,
Just a suggestion. Quit the attitude or egoism and listen.
Petitioners who have agreed to work for pay are not volunteers and ripping them off has absolutely nothing to do with volunteering.
And, by the way, I have done plenty of volunteer petitioning in addition to doing it for a living.
Why should she have to sue? How about honoring your commitments?
Where is their volunteer spirit, jackass?
I’ not affiliated with the Barr campaign.
Tell her to take Barr to court, not just bitch & moan about it.
It is about keeping your word, sleazy filth.
When you agree to pay someone, you should pay them. Your buddies in the Barr campaign are stealing from one of the friends of one of my friends. I object to that.
Where is your volunteer spirit, filth?
lol. You’re funny.
There’s nothing wrong with profits, but where’s some of that Libertaian activism? Or is it all about how much money you can get?
You claim to be an ancap, but I think you are again, a liar. You say that petitioners are profit motivated, as if that’s evil. The fact is, Angela agreed to work for money. Your evil vicious thug friend Shane Cory failed to pay her. And you think there’s something wrong with Angela asking for her money. You are evil.
lol. Apologize for what? I was attacking the BTP, not you.
You obviously care, L Joseph, or you wouldn’t make an issue of it. You objected to my bringing this concern up, and characterised my comments as being a thorn in the side of the LP.
In doing so, you conflate the BTP and me. I am just this one guy. I’m not the BTP.
You also conflate criticism of Barr with criticism of the LP. Your comments were hurtful and mean, and you were wrong. You ought to apologise.
But you won’t because you suck.
You need money to help something you believe in? That speaks volumes about all of those greedy petitioners.
Are there any petitioners that aren’t profit-motivated? hmm
You’re right, I’m truly an ancap.
I wasn’t referring to the article, I was referring to what you’re using the BTP as a vehicle for.
I can tell you’re a bigtime conspiracy theorist, Jim. Listen to Alex Jones?
That’s Barr’s problem if they weren’t paid, not mine or the LP’s. Quite frankly, I don’t give a damn.
How is reporting a failure on the part of the Bob Barr campaign to pay a petitioner an attack on the LP? The LP in Oklahoma was attacked by the Barr campaign, which hired the LP’s Okla. chair to work in West Virginia and then failed to pay her, lied about paying her, etc.
Again, how is this an attack on the LP? Does it embarrass you? Then you are identifying with the Barr campaign and not the LP. Should it embarrass you? Not if you are the LP and not the Barr campaign.
What should be done about scum like Shane Cory who refuse to pay petitioners like Angela O’Dell? If members of the LP object to me bringing this to their attention, then what the f#ck are you doing about it?
Nothing? Just ignore the problems and pray they go away? Or attack the messenger because I brought the problem to light?
What was done to Angela O’Dell is, at best, fraud. At worst, it is theft. Are you a libertarian, Joseph? Or are you some nasty filthy political scum bag who likes to see the labor of petitioners stolen by campaign staff scum like your buddy Shane Cory?
I don’t think a libertarian should have a problem with complaints about fraud and theft. And since you see that as jabbing a thorn in the side of the LP, I don’t think you are a libertarian.
Libertarian Joseph,
It might “seem” that way to someone who takes no cognizance of the facts. In the real world, the BTP is a strong ally of the LP when and where the LP deserves such an ally.
In this election cycle, the BTP endorsed a number of LP candidates — hell, some of our party’s most prominent members were LP candidates — and if you talk to those candidates, you’ll find that several of them received significant financial and/or volunteer support from BTP members.
This year, the main attacks on the LP came from the top of its own ticket and from its own national committee. The Boston Tea Party tried to take up the LP’s slack at the presidential level. Admittedly, we fell short, but at least we made the effort to offer America’s voters a libertarian alternative at the presidential level when the LP declined to do so.
Admittedly, some in the BTP have written off the LP as a possible vehicle for “real libertarian progress,” and not without justification, but not all of us have.
Seems like the BTP only exists to attack the LP and be a thorn at the side of real libertarial progress. How unfortunate.
