Bob Bird to make final campaign stop in Anchorage, Alaska

November 2nd, 2008 · 6 Comments

From the Bob Bird for Senate campaign:

Alaskan Independence Party U.S. Senate candidate Bob Bird will be making his
final Anchorage appearance this Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM at Denny’s
Restaurant on DeBarr. This is the weekly “Campaign for Liberty” meet-up group.

Bird, who was endorsed by Ron Paul last week, is rising in the polls, and
threatens to surprise analysts once again, as he did in 1990 when he took 30%
against Stevens in the Republican primary.

Boy it’d be so great to have Bird in there! What are his latest poll numbers?

He actually has had some T.V adds out this past week and I thought he did well to appeal to conservative voters in Alaska.

He had TV Ads on a number of stations, radio ads on 6 stations (On the Kenai Peninsula and in Anchorage), and bought quarter-page ads in the Fairbank News-Miner, The Anchorage Daily News, and the Juneau Empire.

It’ll be interesting to see who runs for US Senate in Alaska 6 years from now, when Begich is up for re-election. I bet Republican Ron Pauler-Dave Cuddy runs again.

I anticipate a strong third party candidate from the left; we are starting to lay the ground work for a 2010 House run or 2014 for Senate. She has a much higher profile in Alaska than Bird and could do quite well.

Im hoping the AIP will run Walter Hicker or Jack Coghill for something again. =)
