October 29th, 2008 · No Comments

The Green Party’s candidate to represent Illinois’s 11th Congressional district, Jason Wallace, is polling at 9% in a recent SurveyUSA poll. Wallace is a political newcomer and veteran of the war in Iraq. He has previously polled at about 5%. His Democratic opponent is at 50% and the Republican is at 37%, with the seat being vacated by a Republican incumbent this year.

I caught his name being mentioned in today’s Chicago Tribune, albeit a small mention at the end of a blurb on the district race. The Green Party in this state is at a point of being treated as semi-equal in the local media. It’s something to tip my hat to, especially with the state of LP Illinois. No insult to LP Illinois, we just don’t have many libertarians in this state, and most are duped into the Republican Party.
