Hope he's elected.

I don't know much about the platform Franken's running on, and I don't know much about Barkley, but from what I know about both of them I'm figuring that they would be about equally good Senators. Given that, I've gotta go with the independent.

I wish the MN Independence Party had run candidates in all eight Congressional districts this year. They could have really hit the Congressmen and Congresswomen who voted for the bailout all across the state. People in MN CD-4 are really screwed. The choice is for pro-bailout socialist Betty McCollum or a neo-con Republican. I won't even be voting for that particular office due to lack of third party options.

Barkley is an excellent campaigner. He will destroy Franken and Coleman over the bailout fiasco (which more and more experts expect to fail miserably).

I'm impressed with how Barkley is running his campaign thus far. He wisely appeared at both the Rally for the Republic and the Nader Debate Rally here with Ventura. His performance in the televised debates will be crucial to determining whether he's a longshot or a no shot at actually winning the Senate seat. I would like to see a miracle happen and have him put Franken in a tie or even second place. This would prompt some Democrats to vote for Barkley as a "lesser evil" to Coleman on election day.

Too bad Ventura's coin toss came up the other way, nullifying his Senate run for this same seat. It would have been a Ventura vs. Coleman fight by now for sure.

He hasnt even been in a debate yet, nor have his radio ads been playing long. Plus, all this bailout crap will only send him up. Also, Barkley will get the Nader crowd too--so he should hope Nader does well in Minnesota.

The key is whether or not Barkley can get to 25% in the next week or so. If he can, then he become more than Franken's spoiler.
