Youtube video reveals Democracy Now! host being arrested at Republican Convention

Amy Goodman, the host of Democracy Now!, and two producers of the show were arrested recently at the Republican Convention in St. Paul. Goodman has featured third party candidates and causes, such as Ralph Nader and Mike Gravel’s call for a new 9/11 investigation, on her independent news program.

Goodman approached a group of riot police, attempting to view a clash with protestors. She identified herself as a journalist and she claims that an officer responded, “Oh really?” and “ripped my credentials off my neck,” referring to the press credentials hanging from her neck. She is being charged with obstruction of a legal process. The moment was captured by Goodman’s videographer, as shown below.
