Socialist Alexander hopes to convene national labor conference

September 6th, 2008 · No Comments

Socialist Party USA vice presidential nominee Stewart Alexander is calling for a national conference on labor, he writes at Indymedia. He says he “is hoping that plans for such a conference would begin with the Socialist Party USA and the Peace and Freedom Party; he has membership with the two socialist parties. Alexander would also want other left groups involved; such as the Party of Socialism and Liberation (PSL), Freedom Socialist Party (FSP), the Green Party, the Liberty Union Party, Workers World Party, Communist Party USA, and many other left groups and activists.” Alexander says he hopes “a national conference could convene by May 2009 and use the struggle for May Day as a kickoff.”
