OMG! - How can animals like Bernaldo Bicoy - who is a twice convicted child sex offender get bail?

This punk faked himself as a lawyer and business investor consultant to win trust of kids. Out of all people, the govern lets him out on bail!

It's sad but the neighborhoods of Lake Forest are now dangerous. How can I petition?

Don't quit taking the medication because you feel better and think you don't need it anymore. This is a common mistake that can throw you right back into mania.

Thanks, darlin'. :-)

I do have a laptop now, kind of, although it is not mine, and it has a very annoying habit of jumping back into a previous word or sentence of text and inserting letters there, rather than where they should be. I'm not sure if I am describing that understandably, but it slows my already slow typing down even more.

The reasons I don't get a laptop, besides money:

I'm an internet junkie, and it really reduces the time when I manage to get out and work when I have easy internet access. For the same reason, I can't have a job or business that comes with internet access at work.

I tend to lose things. A lot. All the time. Wallet, eyeglasses, water bottle, backpack, phone, jacket, charger....I'm always having to go back and retrieve them, and occasionally fail to do so. Thus, it is not good for me to have a laptop, as I am likely to lose it.

I also travel around the country without a car or drivers license, and really can't have another bag to lug around.

What happened before was that I was out of work for the better part of a year, longer than any time in my life since age 11 (1983), and sitting around in a place where I had access to a computer no one else used, all the time, with fast internet, and nothing else to do (no car, no easy walk or bus anywhere, no access to radio or TV, etc).

While that was good for IPR, it wasn't good at all for my weight, overall health, or any sort of income. Thus, it's a situation to be avoided, not restored.

Wordpress really is one of the simplest things to work with. I have no PHP experience (disclaimer: I am fluent with Perl which is similar) and have been able to hack the crud out of wordpress with ease.

What I would very much like to see is a little check box to "notify me of follow-up comments", like a blogger account now offers. I lose track of the posts that I want to check... and would find it highly convenient to have further comments and a link to the original post just sitting in my email.

GE; you have an email contact for me in my registration for this site. It is a valid POP3, which I check at least once a day, and usually several times a day.

Email me, so we can have a non-public discussion about changes you're interested in implementing. I'll do what I can to help, gratis. WordPress is not that difficult to implement, but I'm one to drift off into geekalese, and need to be reminded of this.

It's best if actual changes are not talked about publicly though, as they could unintentionally expose security holes. Email me, and let's keep our political differences out of the discourse, ok?

<i>Someone needs to show us how to do all this stuff. We are very humble bloggers.</i>

Well, putting contact.ipr@gmail.com on the front page should be easy enough.

Banner exchanges, ads - you already have some in the sidebar, so clearly you know that part.

<i>I would agree with the suggestion of having the author’s name show on the article page</i>

I know you could do it by changing the theme. I'm not sure exactly how to implement the plugin/widget suggestion, but it should be easy enough to find someone who does.

pdsa, would you help out with that, since you brought that up? Anyone else?

<i>The majority of web users have screens resolutions wider that this fixed display layout. Might want to think about moving to a liquid display theme.</i>

Ditto.

<i>I like this idea. I also tend to read IPR through an RSS feed reader, and it’d be nice to have a feed to keep track of comments as well.</i>

I figured that out in LFV settings, but my junior level membership does not allow me to monkey around with stuff like that here.

<i>"Also, LFV has a feed subscription for comments on previous articles, that would also be useful as I don’t try to track stuff I’ve commented on, which means I seldom see replies to my comments, or more than the early comments on threads that get a lot of discussion."</i>

The Authors list can be implemented through a plug-in. If it's just author names with a link to a page listing their articles, that an easy widget create. Google News can be sucked for their RSS feeds on topics (check right column of site my pseudo is linked to) , but their AUP might prohibit the use for sites with ads. Need to read it. The number of articles on the home page can be adjusted through the admin panel. Not sure about article submission form, but would be surprised if WordPress did not have a plug-in for that purpose ready for free usage.

Mike, this comment is to confirm I received your order for 10 free stickers via my website. Again, I think readers of this blog would appreciate having my "for pay" stickers available as well. I think I'd be the most appreciated advertisement on this blog which would make readers happy. Nothing against Scotty Boman, vote.stra.us/donate, etc. I just think advertising for a service that offers great stickers at a great price that are relevant nationwide would be a good thing for this blog.

Mike Theodore,
FreeLibertarianStickers.com is having a 48-hour "give me 10 free" sale starting at 9:35 PM central time 9/21/08 for up to 100 customers. All you have to do is put "give me 10 free" in the comments section of the form requesting free stickers and you'll get 5 Barr'08 and 5 Libertarian More Freedom Less Government stickers for free--and shipping is free. This offer is available to previous requesters of free stickers.

I'm expecting maybe three or four customers (not even close to 100) unless this offer hits the Florida email lists--Floridians have been big customers of mine.
