I don't think either major party has any qualms abt stifling the ballot choices, and then "counting" the ballots as suits them. I think if Barr (Bob, nor Roseanne!), had turned out to be more of threat, the GOP would have ramped up the "legal" efforts to get him off ballots. I also suspect the Democrats are now regretting not going after nader and McKinney. I think the Dems were so convincedd they had a landlside in their fa=vor in the offing that they decided it wasn't as importnat this time to suppress ballot choices. If the race stays tight, they'll regret it! But Naer and McKinney on the ballot leaves them room to do a Donna Brazil and blame Nader and McKinney for their sorry excuse for a campaign.

IMHO, Dino Rossi beat Gregoire (speaking of the Washington governor's race). There was far more evidence of shenanigans on the part of the Democrats than the Republicans.

They forgot the debacle that took place in Washington State. The governor's race was won by a mere 132 votes. During the ensuing lawsuit over the recount several jurisdictions found hundreds of votes that had not even been counted, having been "lost in the shuffle." And since there is a statutory deadline for canvassing, they never got counted.

BTW: I knew this Realtor who was a life-long Republican. A real right-wing a-hole type. But after the 2000 election, his head virtually exploded. He could not believe that his friends and his party, etc., were pretending like Bush actually won the election when it was so clear that Gore won.

Sadly, he is the ONLY person I've ever heard of who fits the above description.

chinacon - 2004 was stolen, too.

But regardless: A "stolen" election is a bit of a redundancy, since elections are undertaken for the purpose of stealing from the productive class and the grandchildren of the productive and the parasites alike.

How are you so sure the 2004 election was "legit"? It was decided by less than 200,000 votes in a few districts of a single state. The votes there were in dispute, but only an insufficient recall was held that counted less than a few percent of the vote.

I am sure that the 2004 election result for Bush was legit but not the 2000 one was stolen. Even if the ballots were counted properly a bunch of elderly people in Florida voted for Pat Buchanan thinking they were voting for Al Gore.

Bravo, Greens. Although I think rigging elections has more to do with flawed voting machines and flawed election officials than keeping third parties off of the ballot, at least in the context of this press release.

They of all people would know better, given how keen the Democrats became on keeping them off the ballot after 2000.

This is not intended to be a leading or rhetorical question: Do Greens think only the GOP could/would rig a presidential election?
