I’ve had these discussions with a number of libertarian friends of mine and I’ve read libertarian lit and I find it unconvincing.

And this “you’re just afraid to read the truth, because you know it’ll convert you” line is just bunk.

I scoff when I hear it from religious folks knocking on my door and I scoff when I hear it from people I disagree with politically.

I have no problem with debate, I just don’t want to get sucked into another lengthy political debate over the internet, because they just tend to make me needlessly angry and accomplish nothing.

Especially on the site where I’m likely to be a dogpiled minority. What’s the point?

I was merely attempting to address Mike’s point that there are more libertarians than leftists here, which is true.

I count myself as both a leftist and a libertarian, although most of those who consider themselves leftists would not see me as one.

Even TPW, back before it became the sycophantic Barr propaganda mill that it is today, made an effort to include leftists among its bloggers, but they just weren’t interested. We have Gregg Jocoy here, who does a great job, and Ross is pretty leftish too, and he’s doing a great job as well. That’s two more than the quality leftist bloggers they have at TPW, but yeah, we could use some more.
