New Jersey’s Bridgeton News reports that Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin and Second District U.S. House candidate Peter Boyce will appear together Saturday at Cumberland County College. Earlier this week, Boyce said, “My position on any issue is no mystery. All one needs to do is read the United States Constitution and the Ten Commandments.”
The Press of Atlantic City, also reporting on the event, offers this brief description of the party: “The Constitution Party is a relatively new one, formed in 1992 and given its current moniker in 1999. It backs policies its members say reflect the principles of the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence, and they criticize overreaching by government. In many ways, the party is similar to the Libertarian Party in its strict advocacy of limited government, but it typically takes socially conservative positions such as opposition to abortion and gay marriage. The party has gained a following among those who oppose the concept of a North American Union, a theoretical alliance between the U.S., Canada and Mexico similar to the European Union.”

It’s great to see Chuck working with down-ticket candidates. Are Barr and McKinney doing any of that for their parties?

Chuck is actually down for a week or so with a sinus infection. Darrell Castle took his place for the events in NJ this weekend.

It is a shame that the CP changed its name from the US Taxpayer’s Party. I think the former is more accurate, but during the time when the party went under the USTP name–Sen. Bob Smith joined it and Pat Buchanan almost joined it. There are THOUSANDS of more pieces of major press for the USTP than for the CP.
