“By all appearances, Governor Palin is a true conservative,” Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin says.
Baldwin praises Palin for being pro-life and pro-Second Amendment, pointing out that Alaska is one of two states that recognize an individual’s right to bear arms without a concealed-carry permit. Interestingly, Baldwin claims that Palin has spoken out against the Iraq War, even calling it a “war for oil.”
But despite his praise of McCain’s running mate, there’s no danger that Rev. Baldwin will be dropping out to endorse the Republican ticket. Palin’s nomination, he says, is a “trick.”
“Let’s face it: John McCain is using Sarah Palin as inducement to trick conservatives into accepting his liberal, big-government, globalist candidacy. And, sadly,” he says, “it is working.”
Baldwin points out that when Ron Paul was asked whether he’d serve as John McCain’s VP, hypothetically, he said he could not. Palin’s acceptance of McCain’s offer means she’s already beginning to surrender her conservative principles, according to Baldwin.
