David Krikorian gets major endorsement

August 18th, 2008 · 8 Comments

David Krikorian is running as an Independent in Ohio’s 2nd congressional district. Krikorian had previously been identified by IPR as one of the top 10 third-party candidates in the nation. Yesterday, the Armenian National Committee PAC endorsed David Krikorian’s campaign. The Armenian National Committee PAC (or ANC-PAC) is the largest and most influential Armenian-American advocacy organization in the United States.

The Armenian American lobby is actually pretty huge. I think it is the third-largest group of its kind, after Israeli-American and Cuban-American.

And the largest non-neocon one of its kind?

    GE,

I view the Armenian-American lobby as non-neocon, yes. They have consistently upheld the rights of self-determination, although that may be colored by their desire to see a free and independent Nagorno-Karabakh

    Is he related to Mark?

    johncjackson,

Could be. They share a last name and are both of Armenian lineage.

I live in the second district of Ohio. I wasn’t even aware anyone was running as an Independent in my district until I read about it on this site. Keep in mind, I’m someone who keeps up to date on 3rd party politics. If I’ve never heard of Krikorian, how many others where I live haven’t. Krikorian needs to do a better job getting him message out.

    Nexus,

I suspect he’ll start soon. He is raising a decent amount of money.

    Nexus,
We have been working very hard to get the word out. We’ve been going to all the major events in the district, we have people putting yard signs all over the place, and we do business walks and door-to-door campaigning. We’ve aired TV commercials and our radio spot is starting today.

Please remember that because we do not have Political Party backing, and because we do not accept PAC money, we have to depend on individual contributions to fund our campaign. If you like what we stand for, and would like to contribute to make sure we have enough funds for commercials in the next few months, please consider making a donation to our campaign: http://krikorianforcongress.com/donate.php.

Many of the people we have met have commented that they’ve seen our yard signs and/or commercials, so I’m not sure where in the district you live that you haven’t seen any sign of us.

If you’d like more info about our campaign, please visit KrikorianForCongress.com. You can fill out a Website Volunteer Form and help us do a better job getting our message out.

Fortunately, because our two opponents are highly unpopular even within their own parties, we have been getting an overwhelmingly positive response from the vast majority of the people we meet. So you are correct that not enough people know about us as we’d like, but you must remember that because we have no political party affiliation, we depend on ordinary Americans just like you to help spread the word.

    Thanks!
