I would not be flattered to have that endorsement. The man is a dirty liar, regardless of political affiliation.

Of course someone cant be militaristic and fully non-interventionist, it is a contradiction. Its like being fully pro-life, except for in the exception of rape and incest.

But, Corsi is pretty non-interventionist.
Just like those who advocate exceptions are still "pretty pro-life".

I don't believe one can be militaristic and non-interventionist. Large standing armies, "preparedness," always lead to war. This is the traditional "American conservative" position. (Look, I even threw you a bone there). Corsi's is the new (neo) conservative position.

GE,

As I said, I wont be an apologist for Corsi. He's undoubtedly playing the field here. He made a fiery non-interventionist speech at the CPNC, and I spoke with him, at length, about non-interventionism. He is definetly militaristic, but is also a committed non-interventionist. He's clearly shirking his personal beliefs in an attempt to sell books, which I think is pretty horrible and pretty unethical--but it doesnt make him a neocon.

Trent - Man, you are a great apologist for odious people. The Barr campaign should hire you.

Corsi is an obvious neocon, or at least someone who pretends to be a neocon (i.e. a liar).

Obama’s naïve, anti-war, anti-nuclear foreign-policy, predicated on the reduction of the military, the eradication of nuclear weapons and an overconfidence in the power of his personality, as if belief in change alone could somehow transform international politics, achieve nuclear-weapons disarmament and withdrawal from Iraq without adverse consequences, for us, for the Iraqis or for Israel.

Pure neocon hate.

Actually, Corsi makes voting for Obama sound good!

Well, now im convinced of the fact that Corsi is just trying to sell books by appealing to his mainstream-conservative audience.

Doesn't change the fact that he is a non-interventionist, just changes the fact that Corsi cant be trusted.

from the book jacket:

"-Obama's naïve, anti-war, anti-nuclear foreign-policy, predicated on the reduction of the military, the eradication of nuclear weapons and an overconfidence in the power of his personality, as if belief in change alone could somehow transform international politics, achieve nuclear-weapons disarmament and withdrawal from Iraq without adverse consequences, for us, for the Iraqis or for Israel."

The reduction of the military bit is just inaccurate, as is the withdrawal from Iraq, which is isn't that different from McCain's position.

As far as I know, Baldwin still has the right position on Iraq: getting the hell out of there.

It seems odd that Corsi would attack Obama by misinterpreting his position as "withdrawal" and lambasting it; and then endorsing a candidate that actually IS anti-war and pro-withdrawal.

Mike,

Where did you read this blurb? Furthermore, that is mincing words. Corsi is non-interventionist but DOESNT call himself “anti-war”. I suspect this is because the man was alive during Vietnam and doesnt want people assuming he is anything like the hippies, yippies, or ACORN organizers.
"

The blurb was on the inside jacket of his new Obama book. I work at Barnes and Noble.

Very minimal? All of these mentions are favorable--and its a GREAT amount of press.

Again, I need to reiterate, there's nothing wrong with selling books and stacking cash. Good for Corsi! But you can sell some of your credibility along with the sale of those books, if you market them in a certain way. I feel this is what Corsi has done. This was his wager to make, and he did so.

Now -- Imagine if Baldwin had rejected the endorsement. That would have been BIG NEWS. As it is, the news is very minimal.

GE,

I didn't say I agreed with Corsi's reasons. Hell, perhaps those arent his reasonings, and I have misunderstood him--maybe he is really just two-faced and trying to sell books. *shrug* Im not going to defend him, because I dont him that well. But I certainly will try to insert some truth into your otherwise false accusations against the man. He is NOT a neocon, NOT for invading Iran, was NOT a friend to Bush or McCain, and IS non-interventionist.

Jeez. "Anti" and "war" have meanings independent of hippies (as if they were worse than the alternative).

Corsi = POS. Baldwin should have denounced his endorsement. (Now THAT would've generated press!)

Because Corsi is 2-faced and I could almost 100% guarantee that the Obama book makes no mention of the Constitution Party or Chuck Baldwin. He needed to get the big publisher and be a #1 bestseller by getting mainstream attention.

If I was in the CP I would oppose him as much as Keyes.

I read the blurb on Corsi's book last night and one of his criticisms of Obama was his "anti-war" foreign policy.

How can he justify an endorsement of Baldwin, who actually IS anti-war?
