Texas LP raised $81,765.81 in first half of 2008

The Dallas Morning News reports on its website that the Libertarian Party of Texas “raised $81,765.81 in contributions for the first six months of 2008. While that’s an ice cream social for a lot of the big boys, it represents a 50 percent increase for Texas Libertarians over previous years.” LPT Executive Director Wes Benedict said, “While the numbers are small compared to the Democrats and Republicans, we deliver a big bang for the buck.”
