“The Libertarian Party’s presidential and U.S. Senate candidates won’t be speaking to the screaming crowds at this year’s Fancy Farm political picnic in western Kentucky,” the Cincinnati Enquirer reported. Organizers of the August 2 picnic, “which attracts a typically raucous crowd of several thousand, have denied requests to speak made by Libertarians Bob Barr of Georgia, who is running for president, and Sonny Landham of Ashland. Both are trying to collect enough signatures to get on the Kentucky ballot in November. The candidates were told by organizers that it rarely if ever allows third party candidates to speak.”

Make it organic beer brewed by aboriginal tree people in the mountains of Peru, and the Greens will sign on! Slap a fat tariff on it to bring in the CP.
It might draw more people than the Republicratic Picnic.
two words: FREE BEER!
Maybe Barr, Baldwin, Nader, and McKinney should hold their own picnic. It might draw more people than the Republicratic Picnic.

I dunno Steve, writing a check payable to “Sonny Landham for Governor Fund†might not be the right idea when he’s running for Senate. I think it’s possible to use the same committee and name, but it seems likelier that he just hasn’t updated his website.
The Fancy Farm Picnic is held on the grounds of St. Jerome Catholic Church. This item is good reporting, IPR!

Curve? How the hell?
Says Sonny Landham: “We may not be able to stop abortion in Kentucky, but we can certainly curve the number of abortions preformed in the Commonwealth.”
BTW: Good to see Barr (presumably) associating with a down-ballot Libertarian. This is the first I’ve heard of such a thing.
Wow. That’s some pretty serious B.S.
Is the picnic privately funded? Or does it receive welfare?
Well there’s some political bigotry if I ever heard it.
Nice to see third party candidates treated like second class citizens.
