The New Hampshire Union Leader reported, “Although he’s yet to secure a spot on the New Hampshire presidential ballot, Republican-turned-Libertarian Bob Barr visited Manchester” on Tuesday, “drawing attention and, possibly votes, away from Republican John McCain,” who also visited the state that day. Barr “said he had no idea McCain would be in New Hampshire the same day he was,” and said he decided to visit “after scoring 10 percent of the New Hampshire vote in an Internet poll recently conducted by Zogby International.”
The Concord Monitor also reported on Barr’s visit, saying Barr’s “career and person are a study in contrasts: He’s come to fame as fiery congressman who led the charge to impeach former president Bill Clinton. Now, he inveighs against the war in Iraq and the war on drugs. He wears thick-rimmed hipster glasses but often addressed the crowd as ‘y’all.’”

Barr looks to be going after McCain’s voters. However, if the polls are correct (not that I trust them), Nader is taking votes from McCain.
