Barr rides in Atlanta Millennium Gate parade

July 5th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Libertarian presidential nominee Bob Barr was among the Georgia dignitaries who “rode in the parade and spoke during the dedication ceremony” for Atlanta’s new Millennium Gate on Friday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The city’s “own Arc de Triomphe opened eight years into the new millennium with a flourish of balloons, a barrage of fireworks and a quirky parade that included Lady Liberty, a bust of George Washington and a costumed Gen. James Oglethorpe, who thanked spectators for living in the state he founded.”

In related news, an InsiderAdvantage poll conducted on July 2 shows Barr polling four percent in Georgia. The margin of error is +/- 4.3 percent; John McCain leads Barack Obama 46% to 44%, with six percent undecided.

I am hoping disenchanted Libertarians will strongly consider the Modern Whig Party.
