Where’s Wayne? Bob Barr’s running mate nowhere to be found on campaign Web site

June 10th, 2008 · 6 Comments

Since endorsing Bob Barr for the Libertarian Party’s presidential nomination, and then receiving Barr’s endorsement and subsequent nomination for vice president, Wayne Allyn Root has been nearly invisible within the high-profile — by Libertarian standards, at least — presidential campaign.

Today, the Barr Web site debuted a new splash page in which Barr is standing side-by-side, not with his running mate, but with his mate — his wife, Jeri Barr. After clicking to continue to the Web site, Mrs. Barr is again prominently featured through a graphical link with her photo and the words “click here to Meet Jeri Barr.” But the words “Wayne,” “Allyn,” and “Root” do not appear anywhere on the Barr campaign’s main page.

In fact, a Google search for the word “Root” on BobBarr2008.com yields only four results:

  1. Don’t be fooled; a green CIA won’t root out terrorists
  2. Big Government Spending – The Root of All Problems
  3. Disparaging Stuart Rothenberg’s recent article in Roll Call Newspaper which dismissed the Barr/Root ticket…
  4. And once again: Don’t be fooled; a green CIA won’t root out terrorists

That’s just one actual mention of “Root” — and “Barr/Root,” not “Wayne Allyn Root,” at that — on the entire Bob Barr Web site, at least according to the Google search.

Most would consider this fairly odd, especially considering it was only with Root’s endorsement that Barr was able to catapult ahead of Mary Ruwart and win the Libertarian Party’s nomination.

Good. The less Barr mentions W.A.R., the more likely he is win over my support. I doubt I’m alone there.

This would be good for LFV

Maybe it would be better if Jeri Barr were the VP.

Even better the Root website looks like a complete mess and hasn’t been updated since the nomination.

Something I find interesting on the new national poll Nader seems to have gained some momentum, but at the other end Barr has dropped a bit. I find the Barr website to be flat out boring and with no life unlike Ron Paul’s.
