Ron Paul was interviewed on CNN this morning and asked about Libertarian candidate for president, Bob Barr.
Paul said that he thought Barr represented libertarian principles and was “speaking our language.” He said that while Barr’s congressional record was not as solidly libertarian as his own, that didn’t mean he couldn’t be a good libertarian. Finally, Paul said he thought Barr offered limited-government voters a choice, and that Barr could “have a very positive effect in this campaign.”

This should alieve some of the doubts about Bob Barr. Unless the Paulites don’t trust the word of Ron himself.

True, but remember that most Paulites choose what they want to hear from him in the first place, so there’s no way that they will take this as a hint as many times as he lays it before his campaign ends in September.
Paulites are by default, a generally radical audience, moreso than Dr. Paul, who understands there DO have to be compromises to achieve more liberties- just that he hasn’t had to make such sacrifices for appropriate reasons yet. Paul understands many of his campaign promises are part of multi-administration efforts and that in reality, his plans are similar to Barr’s, except to a much tighter grip on foreign and monetary policy. We’ve also seen them take radical stances to defend the man, even when he has asked them not to, so the effect this will have will probably be insignificant.

Ron Paul is a nice guy. This could be a case of Ron Paul being too nice a guy.

I guess Paul is giving up on jockeying for a speaking slot at the GOP convention. Good for him.

He has to tread lightly, the RP can kick him off his committee assignments and place him LAST seat on the “janitor oversight”comittee-lol…

It probably doesn’t make a lot of difference now anyway. If they were going to punish him for the exposure he’s gotten, they would have done it by now. .. course they could be waiting til after September or November. He’s not going to be stupid and come right out and endorse Bob Barr, but he’ll probably do everything else he can to hint it to that end.
