Oregon Constitution Party candidate for U.S. Senate, Dave Brownlow, says of the recent Supreme Court decision overturning a D.C. gun ban, “The Supreme Court finally gets one right — sort of.” The 2nd Amendment does not bestow some special new right to us. June 27th, 2008 · 1 Comment

In an editorial this morning, the Minneapolis Star Tribune writes, “The Independence Party has only one big success to credit — the election 10 years ago of Gov. Jesse Ventura. California’s Riverside Press-Enterprise reports Constitution Party presidential nominee Chuck Baldwin “stopped in the Inland area Thursday, albeit without the usual trappings of a national campaign: no motorcade, traveling press or Secret Service.” His appearance at a Riverside restaurant “was so low-key that diners probably had no idea there was a presidential candidate in their midst.” [...]

Bob Barr’s ‘secure the borders’ fundraising letter gets it wrong

June 26th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr’s recent “secure the borders”-themed fundraising letter was viewed as “borderline racist” and “extremely unlibertarian” by some Libertarians.
