The three confirmed candidates to replace Carl Levin as U.S. Senator from Michigan are all courting Ron Paul supporters. The Republican Jack Hoogendyk has his problems from the Paulian perspective, and he seems to be pursuing Paul supporters less aggressively than the Libertarian (Scotty Boman) and the Constitution Party candidate (Mike Nikitin), who are both members a common mailing list for Michigan Ron Paul supporters.
Recently, a Ron Paul leader who is troubled with Boman’s position on marriage took Nikitin to task for his position on foreign policy. She says she saw Chuck Baldwin speak live at the opening of his headquarters and that Nikitin’s views are in stark contrast with those of the CP’s presidential candidate.
Here’s where Nikitin stands:
War in Iraq – We are there now. All the whining about how we got there is irrelevant. It is time to focus on the positives. We have not one – but two bases in the center of Islamic-fascist terrorism. The only people who want us out of this region are our enemies – by definition. Who wants friends who are protecting you to leave?
Who wants our military to leave defeated, and not before victory over terrorism is won? Not any real American I can think of. Peace is never attainable until your enemy is destroyed. Read a history book.
Hot spots in Baghdad? Really? What part of Baghdad? That part – that is now – smoldering rubble? You mean that part? What part is hot now? Point it out. We can do it again. We would love to do it again!
Your Iraqi oil will be paying for the rebuilding, for the bombs and for the delivery service and soldiers that got them there. Thanks for the profit center and the practice time. And please let us know when you have another hot spot. It was a pleasure doing business with you.
War on Terror – There is no greater crime a government can do than send the military into a war and not allow them to use every weapon and tactic available to them to secure the fastest and most complete victory – with the least loss of life to Americans. Period! If you are going to fight a war – then you better be committed to winning it by any and all means at your disposal. Your enemy will be doing this, whether you plan on doing that or not.
After 9/11, we told our allies and enemies – you are with us or against us. That is a fair statement. We need to back that up to the fullest. It is the shortest and quickest way to victory with the least loss of life to Americans. Our enemies can stop the pain as soon as they surrender unconditionally.
Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia – all should be feeling the wrath from 9/11 – seven years ago! The violence and the funeral of Osama bin Laden would be over already.
Congress must declare war on Islamic Fascism and any nation harboring these terrorists.
A second point of conflict between Nikitin and the Constitution Party platform is his position on abortion. Nikitin says the practice is murder “except in the case of rape, incest or the health of the mother or child.” The Constitution Party does not condone any exceptions to its 100% pro-life plank.
Nikitin also supports civil unions for gay couples and free trade.

This doesnt surprise me too much–Michigan and Maine are the most interventionist of the CP states.
