Independent candidate switches to LP in Maryland

May 30th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Gary Hoover, a used car dealer running for Congress in Maryland’s Sixth District, has switched from an independent candidacy to a Libertarian bid. According to the AP, “Hoover says he contacted the Libertarian Party about his candidacy because he agrees with the party on many issues, including withdrawal from Iraq, opposition to the Patriot Act and smaller government. The Libertarian nomination means Hoover won’t have to gather signatures to appear on the ballot.”

He agrees with “many issues”, but not ALL of the issues! Drum him out immediately! Heretic!

    Of course, I’m just kidding.

Welcome to the LP, Mr. Hoover.
